By Johnny Depp was the big winner at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” was awarded best movie and Johnny Depp won the award for best performance.
Johnny and Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer, accepted the Golden Popcorn trophy together. “I’d like to thank this man and Disney for not firing me first” said Depp.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” has been holding the number one spot at the box office.
On its second weekend it made $43.2 million and $114.7 million on the first opening weekend. Worldwide “At World’s End” has a total of $625.3 million.
Another big winner for the night was Mike Myers, who got the MTV Generation award. Sacha Baron Cohen, “Borat” collected two trophies. One of those trophies was for best kiss, for his kiss with Will Ferrell in “Talladega Nights.” In honor to that screen kiss, the two comedians shared a long, passionate kiss, ending in a roll-around-on-the-floor make out session.
By The man infected with TB is now receiving treatment at a Denver Colorado hospital. His name is Andrew Speaker, a 31 year old lawyer. Official are still trying to contact all the airline passenger who were exposed to the illness.
Andrew’s father in law works for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Robert C. Cooksey, the father in law, is a microbiologist who has conducted research on tuberculosis for the National Center for Infectious Diseases.
Andrew Speaker was advised not to travel and was told how dangerous his disease was, but he did not listen and traveled to Europe, flew back to Canada and drove to the US since he knew he had a red flag.
Somehow there were some border security issues. When his passport was checked when crossing the border in New York and even though it triggered an alert in the Customs and Border Protection computer system, he was still allowed in the country.
By Deep-sea explorers have found the richest shipwreck treasure ever. The reaction to their discovery has overwhelmed them. The announcement of the discovery was Friday; Odyssey Marine Exploration from Tampa, Florida said that they found 500,000 Colonial-era silver and gold coins, possibly worth more than $500 million. The exploration group has withheld details about the shipwreck, where they found it and what kind of coins they found.
"We are overwhelmed by the worldwide interest in this project, and it reinforces our belief that shipwreck exploration hits a nerve with the public. I wasn’t prepared for the response," said Greg Stemm, co-founder of Odyssey Marine Exploration said. He was in Los Angeles where he was having a meeting with Disney about possible projects for the large and small projects. These film discussions have been going on for a year way before the treasure was found.

By Martin Luther King’s eldest daughter died at 51. Yolanda followed the footsteps of his father with the same dream of racial harmony through drama and motivational speaking. She died late Tuesday in Santa Monica, California. The family still does not know the cause of death but they think it might have been a heart condition.
The King family said in a statement “She was an actress, author, producer, advocate for peace and nonviolence who was known and loved for her motivational and inspirational contributions to society.”
Yolanda King was born on November 17, 1955 in Alabama. When she was an infant her home was bombed in the civil rights era. Years later she became and actress and also ran a production company and appeared in several film like “Ghosts of Mississippi” and “King.”
By The Taj Mahal is one of India’s most iconic structures and is also one of the most visited landmarks. This popular icon is getting dirty. This structure is known for its paleness but lately it looks more yellow than white.
A report Monday stated that the cause of the Taj Mahal turning yellow is pollution, it is encrusted with “suspended particulate matter” or dirt and soot found in the air around the city of Agra.
The panel has recommended packing the Taj Mahal in mud a process that has been used on it in the past. The whole treatment takes around 2 months. They would put mud all over the structure; let it dry and then washing it off. When the mud dries it absorbs all the dirt.
By The Anglican Church’s openly gay Episcopal bishop said that he hoes to enter a civil union with his partner next year. He said that they will have separate religious and legal ceremonies.
The New Hampshire Governor John Lynch is going to sign a bill that allows unions for same sex couples. This will make New Hampshire the fourth state in the nation to do so. This law will go in effect January 1st.
Gene Robinson, the openly gay bishop and his partner of 18 years, Mark Andrews will have their two ceremonies around the middle of next year. One will be a non-religious one where they will be legal partners and then a church ceremony.

The Scottish church was featured in the novel “The Da Vinci Code” and it has revealed one more hidden mystery that was hidden for almost 600 years.
Thomas Mitchell is a 75 year old musician and ex-Royal Air Force code breaker. Stuart, his son, is a composer and pianist. They both described the piece as “frozen music.”
The project to crack the chapel’s code took them 27 years and they said “The music has been frozen in time by symbolism.”
The chapel is located about 7 miles south of the Scottish capital. The 15th Century Rosslyn Chapel was featured in the last part of the movie “The Da Vinci Code”
By An overturned gasoline truck caused part of the overpass to crumble onto another. Bay Area residents will begin their worst commute in two decades. This freeway is one of the regions most traveled sections. It melted and collapsed after the crash.
“I’ve never seen anything like it” and officer said “I’m looking at this thinking, wow, no one died.” Officials have predicted that this crash has caused what’s going to be the worst commute since 1989 after an earthquake damaged the bridge that carries motorists from San Francisco – Oakland Bay to a number of different freeways.
The Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency to speed up the clean up and rebuilding efforts. Ferries, buses and the rail system will be free for commuters to go across the bay. Authorities say that it will take months to fix the freeway and interchanges, and are advising motorists to use public transportation.
By The White House has turned its attention to preventing malaria one of the biggest killers of African Kids. It all happened Wednesday where President Bush joined the African dancers entertaining at the Rose Garden event. Bush pounded on the drums and danced with the troupe.
Laura Bush also attended The Rose Garden event. It was the first time The White House marked Malaria Awareness Day. “On this special day, we renew our commitment to lead the world toward an urgent goal, and that is to turn the tide against malaria in Africa, and around the globe,” the president said.
The president also said that the disease is preventable and curable. He said that defeating malaria will be a challenge but will not require a miracle. They will be distributing 500,000 bed nets to the most vulnerable households in Zambia. Uganda will also be receiving 500,000 bed nets. This campaign will distribute a total of near 1.4 million nets to children under 5. They will also get polio vaccines.
