After a major pipe explosion in New York no asbestos were detected in the air. A steam pipe burst in the middle of the city. The explosion killed one person and injured 26 people.
Some asbestos were detected in some debris, “People who may (have come) into contact with the steam or debris should take a shower and place their clothes in plastic bags for cleaning or disposal. People inside buildings in the frozen zone should keep windows closed and switch air conditioners to recirculate the air inside instead of drawing in air from outside” a statement said.
The area around the explosion has been frozen because of fear of asbestos in the air. People are allowed in the frozen area but are asked to use caution. Only people that are in the frozen zone are allowed to stay, no outside people allowed in.
A TAM plane crashed last night in Sao Paulo, Brazil killing at least 200 people. It seems like the airline pilot tried to abort a crash landing by trying to take off again.
Recovery workers searched for bodies, they have found 158 and have identified 8. The TAM Airline Airbus A320 was attempting to land in a driving rainstorm at Sao Paulo’s Congonhas airport. The plane flew by a multilane highway and then slammed into a building and bursting into flames.
“What appears to have happened is that the pilot didn’t manage to land and he tried to take off again,” said Capt. Marcos, the spokesperson for the fire department.
The building that the plane hit was a concrete structure that now looks blown out, with smoke coming out of everywhere.

Former astronaut Lisa Nowak told detectives in Orlando, Florida that she went to Orlando to meet her rival for the love of another astronaut and she wanted to know where she stood in this weird love triangle.
Nowak was asked by Orlando Police Detective Chris Becton, why she wanted to meet Coleen Shipman in the parking lot at the Orlando International Airport? She is accused of attacking her rival, Coleen Shipman with pepper spray and then trying to jump into her vehicle. Nowak pleaded not guilty to all this.
Even after she was in jail, Nowak continuously asked to Shipman. She even asked the detective if Shipman knew who she was. Nowak says that all she wanted to do was tell Shipman about her involvement with Bill Oefelein, a colleague who had a two year relationship with Nowak and started a new relationship with Shipman some time before ending his relationship with Nowak.

DNA and tooth analysis used by Egyptian authorities have identified a mummy found a century ago as Pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut on Wednesday. The mummy was discovered in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings in 1903. The mummy had not been identified and was left on site. Two months ago the mummy was taken to the Cairo Museum for testing.

For some strange reason a man tried to jump into the Pope Mobile. He tried jumping into the back of the open air vehicle carrying Pope Benedict XVI in Vatican City on Wednesday. The man was soon wrestled to the ground.
The man was wearing a red t-shirt, dark shorts and a baseball cap. There was a crowd of people waving flags and holding banners for the pope on the side of the street where the pope mobile was passing by. That is where the man was standing at them jumped over the barricade and touched the back of the vehicle right before six men wrestled him down.
Pope Benedict continued waving at it seemed like he didn’t even noticed what was going on in the back of his vehicle. The Pope gives an address or general audience to crowds who gather in St. Peter’s Square. Thousands of people show up and sometimes hundreds of thousands and even though they are screened with metal detectors, screening can be difficult because of the amount of people showing up.
