A man claiming he was the emperor was shot in the State Governor’s office. The governor Bill Ritter said he heard the shots in the hallway. The man was shot and killed by a state trooper when he refused to drop his gun. Ritter was not injured in the incident.

The man has not yet been identified; he was wearing dark pants and a white shirt. After having at least two verbal confrontations with a state trooper in Ritter’s security he walked into the reception area. Minutes later the man was being escorted out of the building when they discovered he had a gun and refused to put it down.

It is still unknown how many shots where shot but some witnesses say they heard four or five shots. Before being shot the man said “I am the emperor and I’m here to take over state government.” Police say they do not know the motive of this man’s act.

Witnesses were asked not to talk to each other about the incident so their perceptions are not tinted. They are supposed to go straight to the police about what they heard or saw.
